Its official – Lockrite Security are the first Securikey stockist covering the Farnborough and Hampshire area. We have used a number of different Safe suppliers throughout our trading history and as of 2014 we will only be stocking and installing the Securikey range of fire resistant safes.
Why are we only stocking SecuriKey safes?
As a long standing security company we feel that the Securikey range provide high quality products that are good value for money. SecuriKey are based in Aldershot, which makes it easier for us to order and collect safes ordered by our customers at short notice.

What is a Security Safe?
The earliest examples of safes were a wooden boxe bound in iron that was kept secure using a heavy lock. Thankfully times have changed and safes are more complex and sophisticated and as such you need to lookout for a number of key features.
Security Safes (or Cash Safes as they are commonly known) have a number of technological features that make them resilient to brute force attacks. Over time, the tools used by burglars have become more sophisticated, which means manufacturers like SecuriKey have to create safes that are stronger and more complex.
What features should you look out for?
A typical security safe might feature:
- Anchoring holes to secure it to a concrete floor or wall
- A double-bitted key lock, which is very difficult to pick
- Anti-pry doors and hinges which can’t be forced with a crowbar
- Drill resistant plates protecting the lock and boltwork
Some safes are designed more to protect their contents from fire rather than see off burglars. Such safes are referred to as “fire safes” or “fire resistant safes” and may not have even the most basic of burglar-resistant features. Safes that provide both fire and burglar resistance are also available, giving you the best of both worlds.
